We met while working for the Nevada State Democratic Party, one of the most prolific State Democratic Parties in the country. I focused on Digital and Social Media Communications, Field and Fundraising, and Chris specialized in Research and Compliance - both Fundraising and Legislative. We found that our individual fields complemented each other’s in surprising, and what turned out to be inseparable, ways. Technology was changing the landscape. This made them eager to cultivate their own practice, one that would effectively intersect their expertise with their respective interests.
They started doing compliance together nearly a decade ago and found that our unique skills were complimentary. Choosing to specialize in an industry means that we are dedicated to keeping up to date on all things compliance and treasury; that we build lasting relationships with governing agencies, and that we will treat your committee as if it is the only one we work with. That is the energy that sets us apart.
Wedge Consulting opened its doors in 2006. Since then, we have facilitated the success of candidates, non-profit organizations, and small business organizations and they look forward to helping you reach your goals.

Julie Wedge
Julie Wedge leads Wedge Consulting, a political consulting firm in the Sacramento region. Previously, she was a staffer in the Nevada State Legislature, consulting on numerous campaigns throughout Nevada and California, as well as in leadership on national races. Over the last 5 years, Julie served as Chief of Staff and Political Consultant to the first openly LGBTQ+ Councilmember, former Oakland City Council President and Councilmember At Large Rebecca Kaplan. Notably, she was Kaplan's campaign consultant in her challenging, yet successful 2020 reelection. Her extensive consulting experience also extends to the nonprofit arena, including global travel to facilitate culturally competent fundraising for a storied multinational environmental organization. This Bay Area native completed her undergraduate degree in Media Studies and Communications at San Jose State University.
Chris Wedge
Chris Wedge leads Wedge Consulting, a political consulting firm in the Sacramento region. Previously, he was a staffer at the US Capitol in the office of the late Former Majority Leader Harry Reid, staffing on interior issues throughout Nevada. Chris has consulted on numerous campaigns throughout California and Nevada including serving in leadership on Presidential campaigns. Notably, Chris has served for the last 5 years as Finance and Research Consultant to the first openly LGBTQ+ Councilmember, former Oakland City Council President and Councilmember At Large Rebecca Kaplan. His extensive consulting experience also extends to the nonprofit arena, including educational and legislative research and analysis for a non-profit organization based on the East Coast. This Reno native completed his undergraduate degree in Business Management and Political Science at the University of Nevada.
